Be Sure
If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, how can you be sure that when you pass from this life, you will meet Him face to face in Heaven? Many unbelievers express their distaste for Christianity because they think it’s a crutch or that there is no way to prove that God is who He says He is. What anchors your faith to the reality of Jesus Christ? How can we, as believers, be sure that what God promises is true? God’s Word provides strong assurances for anyone seeking them. John 3:16, for instance, promises that “whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
The Apostle Paul states in Romans 10:9-10, “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
Truly, it doesn’t require much faith to believe that Jesus was raised from the dead when documented historical records have already verified that hundreds of people witnessed His death, burial, and resurrection. Furthermore, these eyewitnesses verified the curtain in the temple was torn in two, signifying that all believers now had access to God through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. If you ever doubt these truths and promises, simply ask God in prayer to “heal your unbelief,” and His Word and Holy Spirit will reassure you once again that what you believe is true, real, and eternal!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Your Word and sending us Your Holy Spirit, who sanctifies the believer. The preservation of Your Word through these millennia has fortified our faith with the reality that all You have said and done has ensured an eternity with You for all who choose to believe. Thank You for showing that Jesus’ death on the cross satisfied the debt for our sins, and by raising Him from the dead, we are guaranteed an eternity with Him FOREVER! Jesus is alive! Hallelujah!
