The Secular Humanism Worldview

The Secular Humanism Worldview

6,000 years ago, when the serpent said to Eve, “You will be like God, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:5). Adam and Eve not only took a bite out of those words, they swallowed them hook, line, and sinker, and the Secular Humanism Worldview was born. In this worldview, mankind intentionally rejects God and puts itself on His Throne. It emphasizes human reason, ethics, and social justice over God and His Word by teaching that God is no longer the point of reference for morality or for discerning between good and evil. They want to make all of the rules, such as the devaluation of human life. That’s why doctors can tell a pregnant mother whose child has Down syndrome they are of less value and can be aborted. The secular humanist doesn’t need God; he is his own savior.

This worldview is a scourge to the Christian Church! Did you know, in a recent Barna survey of Protestant Churches, 69% of its members deny the biblical doctrine of the depravity of man by believing that all human beings are “morally upright,” and only 45% of its members believe human life to be sacred? This is an indictment of how far those who claim to be Christians have fallen from biblical truth into secular humanistic thinking. Beloved, when believers think like pagans, act like pagans, and have the same values as pagans, the church not only becomes pointless and powerless; it’s indistinguishable from the world! God forbid!

Are we not engaged in a battle between worldviews? It’s God and His eternal Word versus the world and its godless philosophies! God wants His people to be world-transformers, not world-imitators, but He can’t transform the world through you until you allow Him to transform you.  “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:17).  Beloved, if you have allowed secular humanism into your world, the time has come. Repent and put God back on His Throne! Be a world-transformer, not a world-imitator!
