Jesus: A Love That is Out of This World
Jesus: A Love That is Out of This World
Three Questions: What eases the pain of a broken heart? What gives peace to a weary soul? And what can change the past and redirect the future?
Psychologists tell us that we all have three primary needs: the need to be loved, the need to be forgiven, and the need to be provided for. Did you know God meets every need through Jesus Christ? In Revelation 1:5, the eternal and unconditional love of Jesus is put on vivid display: He “…has freed us from our sins by his blood.” Truly, the love of Christ is a love that is out of this world!
In 1 John 3:1, the Apostle John says, “See what kind of love the Father has given to us.” The word “kind” in the Greek language tells us God’s love is foreign; it’s like it’s from another country; in fact, it’s out of this world. John, in no uncertain terms, tells us that God’s love, in Christ Jesus, is unlike any love we could ever experience. It’s greater than a mother’s love and a father’s love. It’s even higher than the love one would have for their spouse. It’s foreign...it’s unusual...it’s…out of this world! There’s a story of a baby that couldn’t get out of its crib...so Grandpa got into the crib to be with his grandbaby. Beloved, like the baby, you are trapped in your world of sin, and you cannot get out. But you mattered so much to God that He sent His one and only Son into your world. Jesus left His throne in heaven and became a man. He lived a sinless life, and then He offered Himself to die on the cross, in your place, paying God’s penalty for your sin. Believe in Him today by embracing His words, His ways, His will, and His worship. Jesus will meet your every need because His is a love that is out of this world! O, What a Savior!
