Jesus First, or Fear the Worst

Jesus First, or Fear the Worst

Did you know every New Testament book, except for three, starts off by making some direct mention of Jesus Christ? That means 24 out of 27 times the New Testament writers begin their letters by putting Jesus first. If they put Jesus first in their writings, shouldn’t we put Jesus first in our lives? That means at home, on the job, at school, everywhere we go, we should put Jesus first! This is exactly what Jesus, in His own words, said in Matthew 6:33, “…seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness …”

Beloved, Jesus wants to be CEO of your life. That’s what He meant in John 14:6 when He said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Relegate Him to any position other than CEO, then fear the worst because your priorities will get out of order. You will begin to ignore God’s word. You will become consumed by worldly passions. Guilt, fear, worry, and anxiety will begin to creep into your heart. You will have given the evil one opportunity to steal, kill, and destroy you! Great will be your fall!  Say “no” to this ungodliness, and put Jesus first, or fear the worst!

Beloved, if Jesus does not have first place in your heart, then examine your life and make sure you are in the faith. Renew your relationship with Him by visiting Calvary and the empty tomb, and by confessing and forsaking any known sin. If you have never believed in Jesus and what He did on the cross, paying God’s penalty for your sin, then believe in Him today by confessing that He is Lord, and believing in your heart that He rose from the dead, and you will be saved!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Start it off like 24 of the 27 New Testament books started off…by putting Jesus first…or, fear the worst!
