All-Sufficient Grace
All-Sufficient Grace
When you are desperate for help, is God’s grace really enough to help you in your time of need?
I wonder if the Apostle Paul asked himself that very same question when he found himself in desperate straits, being tormented by a thorn in his flesh. In 2 Corinthians 12, he asks the Lord three times to remove the thorn in his flesh, and in verse 9, the Lord answered, “My grace is sufficient for you.” The word “sufficient” means adequate, or enough. What the Lord was saying to Paul was that He was not going to remove what was troubling him; instead, He was going to give him exactly what he needed so he could persevere through the hardship. The all-sufficient GRACE of God.
The word grace or charis speaks of unmerited favor given to undeserving people. It is an unceasing flow of divine favor pouring into the life of the believer that saves them, keeps them, enables them, sanctifies them, delivers them, and comforts them, and when their life is over, it glorifies them by taking them immediately and directly into the presence of Jesus. Praise the Lord! Oh, how precious the gift of the all-sufficient GRACE of God is!
Beloved, you will experience hardships and heartbreak in your life. You will experience times of desperation. And when you do, trust in the Lord because God wants to help you, in fact, He’ll be waiting for you to come to Him so He can lavish upon you His powerful and transforming GRACE! Whatever it is you are going through, God promises His all-sufficient GRACE is enough to meet your need. NO! Wait a minute! Actually, it’s not just enough, it’s sufficient for you.
