I Saw The Light

I Saw The Light

Episode 1 - Part Two

Welcome to In the Lighthouse. I’m Daphne Collins, your host and Lighthouse Keeper, here to present Part Two of Episode 1 entitled, “I Saw the Light” brought to you by Carry the Light Ministries. I am so pleased and encouraged by all the messages we received from you following our first episode. I want to sincerely thank you for the enthusiasm you’ve shown, and most especially your well-wishes! I know that we will become fast friends as we embark on this journey together in our search for safer shores. As I indicated last week, the lighthouse is where you come to find peace and encouragement – whether you’re going through a storm right now, or you’ve come out of one, and want to tell the world all about it. I encourage everyone listening, let’s not be afraid to tell the world how the light of Christ brought you out of darkness and into the light! So please folks, go to our website and find The Lighthouse, and share your story today.  Every Wednesday, we will meet to have open and honest discussions on topics presented by you, our listeners, in the episodes we will be introducing very soon called, From the Mailbag. My co-host, Melissa Saenz, will be joining me for these episodes, as we select and highlight the messages received directly from you. Some stories we share may be difficult to hear, but they’re intended to bring healing to the one needing strength to persevere. We are always reminded that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will never leave us nor forsake us. So, let us take comfort in that knowledge. Today, we continue with Part Two of “I Saw the Light,” a story of redemption from darkness to light. As I mentioned last week, everyone loves to hear about the overcomers, and our hero in this story has been given a precious gift: a second chance to step boldly into the light. Parental and adult discretion should be exercised when listening to this story as it may not be suitable for younger audiences. Your supervision of younger listeners is recommended.

Last week, you met Anthony Canales, a Public Relations Assistant and Student Sponsorship Representative for Teen Challenge Arizona. Anthony’s story indicates that not everyone will have a childhood that is guaranteed to be free from some form of abuse or neglect. Environmental circumstances, whether biological, social, mental, or spiritual, can shape the way we face life. For many of us, the storms come early, and we must learn to navigate through them as best we can. Several may reach the end of their endurance, and be tempted to give up, but God has an answer for those who are struggling. Through His prophet Isaiah, God said, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you” (Isaiah 41:10-13).
