Laine Wilder

Meet Carry the Light’s Ministry Elder, Laine Wilder, writer and voice of the social media vlog series Insights From an Elder. These short biblical insights were initially featured during the In the Lighthouse podcast but are now spotlighted every Wednesday on our media platforms.

Laine was raised a Roman Catholic and felt, even in his high school days, that he might want to become a Priest, however, God had other plans for Laine.  After graduation, he entered the Marine Corps where he heard the gospel for the first time, and he surrendered his life to Jesus in November of 1978.  Instantly his heart’s desire was to preach God’s word!  In the years following, God led Laine to Bible and ministry training at Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Ankeny, Iowa.

Over the years God has blessed Laine with the privilege of pastoring three churches in Iowa as well as preaching and teaching in Prison ministry, Nursing Home ministry, Rescue Mission ministry, Evangelism ministry, Biblical Counseling ministry, and various other avenues of service.  His favorite ministry, even today, continues to be one on one discipleship.

In the Summer of 2017, God led Laine and his wife, Sandy, to Phoenix where they fellowshipped and served at Hope Bible Church.  Now recently relocated, Laine and Sandy are moving on to new adventures in Garden City, Idaho. He will be the Regional Director of SW Idaho for the Youth Dynamics ministry while Sandy has started a new job. Both of them are active and plan to continue serving the Lord always. Laine enjoys reading, playing, and singing with his guitar, and putting jigsaw puzzles together.  One of his favorite verses is found in Psalm 27:4 where David echoes Laine’s heart, “One thing I desire, that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold His beauty and to seek Him in His temple.”  Truly life as a follower of Jesus is not about religion but about a relationship with God the Father, and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ!

Laine and Sandy have two adult children and one grandson.  Praise The Lord!

"Let me live that I may praise you, and may your word sustain me." Psalm 119:175

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).

Kinney deHamel

Corinne “Kinney” deHamel is a Contributing Partner and fervent prayer advocate for Carry the Light Ministries. She is the writer of the Ministry’s social media vlog, Walk in His Way: wise words directed to younger people who are yet to walk the paths set before them, and new believers who desire to grow in knowledge and fear of the Lord.

Kinney grew up in a small town in northeastern Ohio. She and her sister were brought up in a spiritual vacuum by parents, who, in their sorrow due to a family tragedy, chose to turn away from God and cope in their own way. The first time Kinney opened a Bible was at age 23 when she endeavored to prove it false in order to ‘rescue’ her future husband from ‘such foolishness.’

Because God is more powerful than the sum of our doubts of Him, He drew Kinney to a saving faith in March of 1976, when she read Jesus’ mighty words in John 14:6,  “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Suddenly she believed, and Kinney has been walking with Him since that time and has served in various ministries, including Youth For Christ, The Cleveland City Mission, The National Day of Prayer, and Concerts of Prayer. Kinney has held chaplaincy at various prisons, has been a speaker at women’s conferences and retreats, as well as being a contributing member for several years of the Pause for Prayer team for the Moody Radio affiliate WCRF.

Presently, Kinney is serving as a discipleship coach for life groups at her local church, Leroy Community Chapel in Ohio. She loves encouraging others to walk ever more closely with the Lord, through words of encouragement, exhortation from God’s Word, and much fervent prayer.

Single once again after 36 years of marriage, Kinney is the mother of 2 daughters and has 7 grandchildren. She resides near Lake Erie in Painesville, Ohio.
