The Great White Throne Judgement
Imagine this scene at the end of time, as we know it, billions of unbelieving souls standing before the Great White Throne of Judgment. Suddenly, a massive explosion of atoms destroys the entire universe. Now, imagine these unbelievers. They had just witnessed the destruction of the only world they had ever known.
Did you know, in Revelation 20:11-15, the Apostle John actually describes this event when he writes, “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne…each person was judged according to what they had done… anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”
These unbelieving souls had given their life for what the world offered them, and now their world was gone! Everything they pursued instead of Christ…career, possessions, pleasure, riches…gone! During their earthly life, they rejected Christ, and now, the full weight of God’s wrath was about to fall upon them. Who are these unbelievers? They could be the big shots, they could be nobodies, they could be the up-and-comers or the down-and-outers, they could be the CEO’s or janitors, they could be kings, they could be paupers. Jesus spoke to this when He said in John 3:36, “Whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”
Beloved, in the end, when everything we have is gone, all we have left is our soul! That’s why Jesus said, in Mark 8:36-37, “What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?” When Jesus ascends the Great White Throne for the final judgment, the time for mercy will have come to an end. I implore you, reject the allure of this world and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, before it’s too late!
