Knock! Knock! Knock!
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Do you know what Jesus said to people who had lost their first love, to people who had become lukewarm towards the things of God? In Revelation 3:20, speaking to the church at Laodicea, the Creator and King of the universe said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” The word knock is more than just a tap, and it is more than just a one-time event. Grammatically, it means Jesus, right now, is actively and persistently knocking and pleading that you would open the door of your life and let Him in. Are you listening? Can you hear Him knocking?
Jesus knocks at your door every time you hear a gospel message. He knocks at your door with every moment of depression, fear, worry, anxiety, or pain strikes your life. He knocks at your door every time you receive a blessing you do not deserve. He knocks at your door every time judgment comes, and you face the rod of correction. Jesus is knocking and knocking and knocking and will not stop until you take your last breath and you face your final moment of decision, whether you will serve him or not.
Beloved, Jesus is knocking not because He wants something you have, but because He wants to give you something He has…His love, His mercy, and His grace! He wants to give you Himself! If you are not a believer, Jesus wants you to repent so He can forgive you and give you everlasting life! If you are a believer but struggling with sin, Jesus wants you to repent also, so that He can give you abundance in this life and hope for the life to come! When John wrote Revelation, he was locked up, the church was locked in, and Jesus was locked out. Today, open the door and let Him into your life! Unlock the glories and blessings found only in a personal relationship with Jesus, the Creator and King of the universe!
