God Is Still On The Throne

Did you know the Bible describes God, enthroned in heaven, as the Sovereign ruler over the heavens and the earth? 

In Isaiah 6:1, the Prophet Isaiah said, “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up . . ."  The Hebrew word used for "Lord" is Adonai. It means the Sovereign One. It speaks of His Majesty and Authority and describes the Lord, enthroned in heaven, as the Sovereign ruler over the heavens and the earth. King Uzziah may not be on the throne anymore, but there is One who is still on the Throne! 

Russia continues to war with Ukraine, but there is One who is still on the Throne!  World banks fear inflation may push us into a recession, but there is One who is still on the Throne!  The European Union and the United Nations continue to grapple with crisis after crisis, but there is One who is still on the Throne!  You might be struggling with pain, poor health, a troubled marriage, a broken friendship, a loss of a job, whatever it is … but there is One who is still on the Throne! 

Recognizing that God is still on the Throne means you don’t have to stay up at night worried whether or not the sun will come up tomorrow.  It means you don’t have to fret over some outrageous, albeit ludicrous political behavior from candidate to candidate and from Party to Party.  It means you can have a sense of stability and security in the midst of a shifting and changing world.  

Beloved, the One you need to see, is right there, if you will just look up, for He who inhabits eternity is sitting on a Throne, high and lofty with those that are of a broken and contrite spirit.  (Isaiah 57:15, NKJV).  Corrie Ten Boom said, “If you look at the world, you'll be distressed. If you look within, you'll be depressed. If you look at God, you'll be at rest.”  God is still on the Throne!  Praise God!
