Eternally Secure?
Eternally Secure?
Is it possible for someone who has genuinely repented of sin and believed in Jesus to one day lose their salvation? Believe it or not, the answer to this question is an emphatic “NO!”
Losing one’s salvation is a false teaching today that has been gaining in momentum in Christendom in recent years. Among its erroneous innuendos, did you know that after having been “born again” through faith in Christ, the erring believer becomes spiritually unborn? Did you know that after having been adopted into the family of God, the erring believer would become unadopted and put out of the family of God, and even amputated from the Body of Christ? Did you know that it teaches that even though God is immutable and can never change, He would actually change His mind toward the erring believer? Did you know it even teaches you could commit sin that the death of Christ on the cross cannot atone for?
These are absurd, false assumptions that clearly violate sound Bible teaching! How can we lose that which we had no part in obtaining in the first place? “Salvation is of the Lord” (Jonah 2:9). It is also a gift of God that is undeserved and unearned and can never be influenced. When you deny the eternal security of the believer, you are, in effect, denying salvation by grace and are blaspheming God by calling Him a liar!
Beloved, God’s plan of salvation is not arbitrary. He chooses to save based on grace ALONE (Ephesians 2:8-9). His plan, its execution, and its sustaining power are works of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, ALONE (Ephesians 1:3-14)! When you repent of your sin and believe in Jesus, you are kept by the power of God, ALONE (1 Peter 1:5)! Beloved, you can NEVER lose God’s salvation! You are eternally secure in Christ (John 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39)! Believe this and be secure in your faith!
