Marketplace Ministry: Part Two

The Commentary

Episode 6

Hello, and welcome to In the Lighthouse: your safe harbor from the storm. This is Daphne Collins, your Lighthouse Keeper . . . and I am the Lady With the Lamp, Melissa Saenz, welcoming you once again to your place for safe harbor. We’re glad to have you with us today here In the Lighthouse as we begin our discussion of Part Two of Marketplace Ministry. But before we begin, we want to remind you of how you can reach out to us with your own comments. You can email us at: TheLighthouse@carrythelightministries.com. As you know, the Christmas season is upon us, and with that in mind, Daphne has a message for you, our listeners.

Yes, I do indeed, Melissa! To you, our listeners, Carry the Light Ministries hopes that you have been blessed by the two amazing testimonies you heard from Anthony Canales and Lutisha Goebel through this In the Lighthouse podcast. We want to continue to bring you stirring testimonies, helpful discussions, and thought-provoking interviews in the future. But we want to pause for reflection during the month of December, to bring a different message to help our listeners focus on the “reason for the season,” the commemoration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. You would typically hear something from us every week, however, this month we will have a special Christmas episode entitled, “A Light in the Darkness,” which will air on Wednesday, December 21st, and then we will take a brief hiatus, and God-willing, will resume once again here In the Lighthouse with a new two-part interview on January 4, 2023. But today, Melissa and I will continue our discussion of Tish’s memorable journey of discovery of God’s relentless pursuit to destroy her idols and capture her heart, and finally, to place her on the right path that opened the way for a Marketplace Ministry. Okay, let’s get started!

Change in any form, no matter how it’s packaged, is difficult to bear. But over time, when confronted with the reality that change is necessary in order to come to some semblance of normalcy – or, as some may call, “the new normal;” nevertheless, it’s a challenge. In our commentary of Part Two of Marketplace Ministry, Melissa and I explore the changes that needed to be made by Tish Goebel following the end of her marriage. The exhilaration she felt over the healing of her body from a debilitating and progressive illness was just the beginning of her journey of discovery leading to the path to purpose. Oftentimes, we proceed headlong without considering the potential pitfalls of our earlier cycles of destruction that are yet to be resolved. They cannot be ignored. They must be confronted, and reconciled with in order to make the necessary changes to move forward to the next one. Past behaviors have a way of returning if not repented and confessed. These are the trials Tish confronts one at a time with the help of the Holy Spirit to counsel her. The lessons learned by the changes thrust upon her would only provide the impetus to take that next step. The ultimate goal was achieved in a realized dream brought to life by God’s abiding grace for the little girl who simply wanted to know who she could trust and where she could fit in the world.

It’s important to note that some parts of this broadcast may not be suitable for younger audiences, so I caution adults and parents to use discretion with your young ones when listening to this episode.
