Promises Kept

Promises Kept

Sometimes we just need an eternal perspective to really embrace the WONDER of God’s faithfulness. From the moment He created man, to the sending of His Son to redeem us back in fellowship with Him, God has kept His promises. Because of Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension to Heaven, we now have the hope of Heaven. We will someday enter into the presence of God the Father, Jesus, His Son, and the Holy Spirit, and this is a promise for all those who believe! Our God is faithful!

Every promise made in His Word, which amounts to 7,487, is genuine and has been fulfilled. His promises keep me going daily, especially when I’m tempted to doubt Him. He’s not only able to deliver what He promises, but He’s also willing to fulfill what was promised. Perhaps you’re saying to yourself, “Nope. I’m still waiting on this thing or that one.” If this is your concern, let’s remember an important truth: His ways are not our ways, and His time is not our time. People waited millennia for the promised Messiah, and many died before that promise was fulfilled inside that cold stable in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago. Jesus left His throne in Heaven to come to Earth as a human, in order to suffer and die for our sins, so that we could be reconciled to God. That was a promise kept!

On this side of Heaven, we may not see justice rendered in areas where we’ve been wronged. We may not see every one of our wishes granted. But one thing I can bank my entire existence on is this truth: God redeems ALL things to His glory. One day, all the unfinished business we have been made to endure on Earth will be finished and made right. One day, we will see Him face to face, and He will give us answers to all the unanswered questions and prayers from our time here on Earth. If Jesus hadn’t come to Earth, if He hadn’t died, if He hadn’t been raised from the dead, and ascended back to the Father, then all would be hopeless, and our eternities would remain unfulfilled. But here’s the good news: He DID come!

Let us Walk in His Way.

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise Your Holy Name. We could never have imagined the way YOU chose to reconcile us to You, so that we could one day abide with You forever in Heaven. You are an awesome Creator, and we marvel at Your great love and faithfulness to us. During this season of Christmas, may we remain focused on the promises of Your saving grace. We ask this in Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen.
