Put on the Whole Armor of God

Epilogue: Put on the Whole Armor of God

When the Apostle Paul commanded the believers in Ephesians 6:11 to “Put on the whole armor of God,” have you ever asked yourself, “How do I do that?”

The armor God has given His people to wear is the armor “of God.” That means this supernatural armor comes directly from God and is ours by virtue of our relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.  Praise the Lord! This spiritual armor is freely bestowed upon those who are living in unbroken and ongoing fellowship with Him. If you choose to break fellowship with God through living in disobedience, you opt to lay aside God’s spiritual armor and leave yourself vulnerable to spiritual attack and even defeat. The only way you can put God’s armor back on is by repenting of your sin and begin living back in fellowship with the Lord.

In Ephesians 6:11, when Paul says to “Put on the whole armor of God…” he is actually exhorting us to make sure sin hasn’t crept into our lives, causing the divine flow of God’s power to be interrupted and His divine protection of His armor to be suspended. Beloved, living in unbroken and ongoing fellowship with God is our absolute guarantee that we are constantly and habitually dressed in the whole armor of God. Praise the Lord!

If you will “put on” the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shoes of Peace, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, and wield the Sword of the Spirit, then examine your lives. If sinful choices have broken your fellowship with the Lord, then today, repent of your sin and get back in fellowship with the Lord. In this cosmic world war we are in, the good soldier of Jesus Christ understands the importance of godly living and always strives to have his armor on.  How about you?
