Man of Lawlessness
Man of Lawlessness
Did you know the Bible teaches in the last days the Man of Lawlessness will be revealed (2 Thessalonians 2:8)? Who is he? Where is he going to come from? What’s he going to be like? When is he coming? NEWS FLASH: He’s already here! As the Prophet Nathan told King David when he confronted him about his sin with Bathsheba, in 2 Samuel 12:7, “You are the man!”
What? You? Me? A man of lawlessness? That’s what the Apostle John was saying in 1 John 3:4 when he clearly said, “Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.” And according to Romans 3:23, “…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” That means that me and you are a man of lawlessness! That’s right! “As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no, not one’” (Romans 3:10).
Disregarding God’s Word? You are the man! Promoting selfish ambition? You are the man! Pursuing sensual pleasures? You are the man! Steamrolling others to get better, bigger, higher, and richer? You are the man! As it was in the days of Judges, when Israel had no king, the man of lawlessness lives doing everything that seems right in his own eyes!
Beloved, when God is rejected, sin abounds, violence increases, lives are destroyed, and God’s judgment is inevitable. One day, according to Matthew 7:23, Jesus will say to all lawless people, “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” Beloved, “…the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). On the cross, Jesus took your lawlessness upon Himself; in exchange, He offers you His righteousness. It’s a free gift. Repent today! Believe the Gospel and Jesus will transform you into a man of righteousness! Hallelujah!
