Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

Have you ever questioned your purpose in life,  or your identity as a person, maybe even your worth as a human being?

Listen to the words of King David in Psalm 139:13-14 as he reflects on the intricacy and marvel of human life. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made...” The Hebrew words for "knit together" convey the idea of God with knitting needles intricately weaving or embroidering us, emphasizing, from the moment of conception, God is actively involved in forming and shaping our physical and spiritual composition according to His divine blueprint. David realized that God is the Author of life and mankind is the crown jewel of His creation! He was God’s masterpiece! David responded with overwhelming PRAISE: "I am fearfully and wonderfully made!" Oh, the deep reverence and amazement he felt towards God's craftsmanship!

Beloved, if you ever needed a sense of identity, or purpose, or value, there it is! You see, you didn’t just evolve; God created and designed you with a purpose. That’s right, the Creator of the universe intricately, miraculously, and uniquely crafted you. In all the world, there is no one like you. Nobody has your smile, your eyes, your nose, or your fingerprints. Nobody has your combination of talents, abilities, feelings, or ideas. By God’s design, you are fearfully and wonderfully made! Praise the Lord!

I think King David would agree with Rick Warren when he said, "God made us the way we are for His glory and His purpose. Our role is to honor Him with our lives, fully embracing His design."  Beloved, you are God’s masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made. May your life, from this day forward, reflect God’s purpose, God’s design, and God’s glory.
