“I Am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing” John 15:5.

1 Corinthians 15:33 “Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company ruins good morals.’”

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but layup yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is there your heart will be also” Matthew 6:19-21.

We confront the images of broken humanity on our streets every day. The question is, would you ignore the truth in front of you and walk away? Today’s message encourages us to persevere at doing good despite our own life’s challenges.

“Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, ‘Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.’ But the Lord answered her, ‘Martha, Martha you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken from her’” Luke 10:38-42.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” Psalm 119:105. This devotion reminds us that God provides a way for us if we ask him. God has only two requirements: that we seek him first, and that we trust him fully.
