The Gatekeeper
The Gatekeeper
In Revelation 1:18, Jesus cries out, “I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.” The word pictured here is that of the Gatekeeper who holds the keys of entry and closure hanging at his side. If somebody needed the gates of the city opened or doors within the castle opened, they called for the Gatekeeper. The Gatekeeper was very powerful because he could authorize or refuse entry. Beloved, Jesus wants you to know that He is “The Gatekeeper!”
Oh, it gets even better than that. In John 10:9 Jesus announces to the world He is also, the Door to salvation, the Door to heaven, the Door to fellowship with the Father, the Door to eternal happiness! Jesus said, “I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved…”
Did you realize, as The Gatekeeper, Jesus has your key hanging at His side? One day He will fit your key into the lock, turn the key, and open the door of departure, and at that precise moment, you will be ushered across the threshold of eternity into either His glorious presence or into eternal torment all depending upon what you did with Jesus in this life.
Beloved, have you believed in Jesus and turned from your sinful ways and becoming His disciple? Or are you clinging to your pride by insisting on doing life your own way, hoping one day you will have done enough to merit going to heaven? Today, repent of your sins, come to Jesus, The Gatekeeper, and He will unlock and open for you the Door to salvation, the Door to heaven, the Door to fellowship with the Father, the Door to eternal happiness! Praise the Lord!
