The Book of All Books
The Book of All Books
Would you believe me if I told you that the Bible is the most important book in the universe?
Imagine the Bible is our church. It is always open, and there, our High Priest is ever waiting to receive us. There we have our confessional, our thanksgiving, our psalm of praise, a field of promises, and a congregation of whom the world is not worthy—prophets, apostles, martyrs, and confessors. What a Tremendous Book!
Not only is it our church, but it is also none other than the voice of him that sits upon the throne. Every book of it, every chapter of it, every syllable of it, every letter of it, is the direct utterance of the Most High God. Indeed, “All Scripture is breathed out by God...” 2 Timothy 3:16 (ESV). What a Supernatural Book!
An unknown author understood the immense worth of the Bible. Listen to his awesome description: The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. CHRIST is its grand subject, our good the design and the glory of God its end. It involves the highest responsibility, will reward all faithful labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents. What a Life-Changing Book!
Beloved, is the Bible the most important book in the universe to you? What part does the Bible play in your daily life? If someone were to cut you open, would you bleed the Bible?
