God’s Forever Family
God’s Forever Family
Did you know there is a popular heresy going around that teaches everyone on planet Earth is part of the family of God? They say, “We are all God’s children.”
Did you know the Bible never teaches that? In fact, Jesus said there are two Fathers and two families. In John 8:44, Jesus tells the Pharisees, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.” To say we are all God’s children is an attractive, tolerant way to speak about people today, but it’s not in the Bible. We are all part of the family of mankind, but we are not all part of the family of God. When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, God becomes our Father, we become his children, other believers become our brothers and sisters, and the church becomes our spiritual “forever family.” John 1:12 makes this abundantly clear when it says, “… to those who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
The word used for “church” is ekklesia and it means a gathering or an assembly of the “called out ones.” The “called out ones” are God’s forever family… people called out of a life of sin and into a life of following Jesus Christ. God’s forever family is unstoppable. Satan cannot stop it, and the world cannot overpower it because it is not a building. It is God’s people, gathered together in the name of Jesus Christ to glorify God by worshipping him, edifying his people, and evangelizing the world.
Beloved, are you a part of God’s forever family or are you, like the Pharisees, of your father the devil? Today, repent of your sinful ways, embrace Jesus Christ as your Savior by believing in His Name, and make your grand entrance into God’s forever family, forever! Praise the Lord!
