Chosen
Chosen
Do you remember a time in school when the jocks were appointed team captains and told to choose teams? The popular and athletic students got chosen first all the way down to the agonizing last one chosen. To be accepted and chosen was divine. To be rejected and passed over, that was devastating! Ephesians 1:4 tells us, “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.”
That means, if you are a Christian, if you have repented of your sins and have trusted in Jesus as your Savior, then God chose you before the foundations of the world were laid! That’s an awesome verse! You have been chosen! I have been chosen! We are part of God’s family, we are special to Him! Just think, this all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present, eternal God chose you for Himself!
The Apostle Peter understood this in 1 Peter 2:9 when he seemingly shouted from the mountaintops, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” In other words, as one specially chosen by God, you are a royal priest who is part of a holy nation, serving the King of Kings, with all of the rights and privileges of His Name, on mission to tell all what God has done for you!
Beloved, since “many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14), if you are not sure right now if you are one of the chosen, repent of your sins! Believe Jesus paid the price for your redemption and embrace Jesus as your Savior. Then you will be one of God’s CHOSEN! Hallelujah!
